Research Faculty

Kaylin Hill, Ph.D. was a postdoctoral scholar through the NIH T32: Development of Psychopathology: From Brain and Behavioral Science to Intervention Training Program and a Research Assistant Professor supported by an NIMH K23 award. She is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Notre Dame and the director of the Psychophysiology of Affect across the Lifespan (PAL) Lab.

Alex Argiros

Alex Argiros, M.Ed. was a master’s student in the Mood, Emotion, and Development Lab from 2021 to 2023 before starting a Ph.D. program in clinical psychology at McGill University with Dr. Anna Weinberg in the fall of 2023.


Anh Dao

Anh Dao was an undergraduate honors student from 2019 to 2021 before becoming the manager of the Mood, Emotion, and Development Lab from 2021 to 2023. Anh will begin a Ph.D. program in clinical psychological science at University of Southern California under Dr. Iony Ezawa’s mentorship in the fall of 2023. Anh and her duck, Mimi, plan to stay in the MED Lab Slack channel forever.


Elizabeth Estes

Elizabeth Estes, MSW was the lab manager of the MED Lab from 2020 to 2021. After her time in the MED Lab, Elizabeth completed a Master’s of Social Work degree at the University of Michigan, with a focus on medical social work with infants, young children, and their caregivers.


Haley Green, M.S. was the lab manager of the MED Lab from 2018 to 2020. In the fall of 2020, she began a clinical psychology Ph.D. program with Dr. Elizabeth Hayden at the University of Western Ontario.


Resh Gupta, Ph.D. was a neuroscience graduate student in the MED Lab from 2020 to 2021. She is currently a postdoctoral research associate working with Dr. Todd Braver and the Mindfulness Science & Practice Transdisciplinary Cluster. 


Irena Kesselring, M.Ed. was a master’s student in the Mood, Emotion, and Development Lab from 2019 to 2021. After graduating with her M.Ed., she took a position as a clinical research coordinator at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine in the Neurodevelopment and Psychosis Section.


Maddie Politte-Corn, M.Ed. was a master’s student in the MED Lab from 2020 to 2022 before starting her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology at Penn State University with Dr. Kristin Buss.


Qifeng (Ricky) Sun, M.S. was a data science master’s student in the lab before beginning a position as a data analyst at HCA.

Undergraduate Research Assistants

We are lucky to have many bright, talented undergraduate students working with us! Here are examples of where some of our MED Lab grads have ended up.

Emma Boldwyn was a psychology honors student in the lab. After graduation, she took a position as an Education Statistics Research Assistant at American Institutes for Research.

Spencer Deng was a neuroscience undergraduate RA in the lab and joined the Dauten Family Center for Bipolar Treatment Innovation after graduation.

Lindsey Gordon was a neuroscience undergraduate RA in the lab. After graduation, Lindsey worked as a clinical translational research coordinator at Vanderbilt CIBS Center before beginning medical school.

Nicole Herman was a psychology honors student in the lab. After graduation, she earned a position as a Sara S. Sparrow fellow at Yale School of Medicine. She was later accepted to the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at Catholic University.

Sophia Kekes-Szabo was a psychology honors student in the lab. After graduation, Sophia worked as a research assistant in the Heckers’ lab at the Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital before starting graduate school at Vanderbilt.

Rebecca Mueller was a psychology honors student in the lab. After graduating, Becca started a position as a research assistant in the ADAPT lab at Northwestern University.

Sydney Okland was a psychology honors student in the lab. After graduating, Sydney began the social psychology Ph.D. program at the University of Texas at Austin in the fall of 2021.

Michael West was an undergraduate RA in the lab. After graduating, Michael worked as a research technician at the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine before beginning medical school.

Mae Winglass was a psychology honors student in the lab. After graduating, Mae took a position as a research assistant at the Columbia Center for Eating Disorders while also working in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Reserves.

Eileen Yu was a neuroscience honors student in the lab. After graduating, Eileen started the Duke Master of Biomedical Sciences program before applying to medical school.

Celia Roberto was a psychology honors student in the lab. After graduating, Celia began a position as a clinical research assistant in the Youth Self Lab at Brown University.

Nora Wang was a psychology student in the lab. After graduating, Nora began the Professional Counseling master’s program at the University of Pennsylvania.

Jada Finley was a child development student in the lab. After graduating, Jada began the Master of Counseling online program at Arizona State University, specializing in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
